Oncologist, Radiation 's  Response
Hello;
If the cancer has spread to spine; localized radiotherapy to spinal metastasis is helpful.Zoledronic acid; a drug to improve bone health is also used in this setting,
Please discuss with your doctor regarding these options.

Oncologist Dr. Deepak Sundriyal's  Response
Good morning. The ideal plan is to undergo 3 or 4 cycles of chemotherapy and then to undergo test like CT scan oc PET scan to check the response of drugs whether they are working or not. However if the patients condition is improving , one may undergo the tests after 6 cycles and then undergo the test. U can now undergo test to see the results and then your doctor can decide the further course of action. Now you need to go to same doctor for tests and further action.

Hi

Sorry to hear about your wife. What is her age ? Is she able to do most of her daily activities independently ? Her performance status will affect the outcome. Stage 4 disease with bone metastasis mean she is receiving palliative chemotherapy. This is a treatment to help prolong her life. This is not a curable disease and no curative treatment available anywhere. Non small cell cancer behave differently in different people may be due to their immune response and genetic make up, whatever, so let us hope she do well with the chemotherapy and aim for a good quality of life. Elderly people with other co existing diseases tend to do badly. I hope she is not in this category.
