Suggest Treatment For Stabbing Pain And Swelling In Right Knee

I injured my right knee 10 yrs ago. I had a partial teAr to the ACL a fracture to the front bone of my knee and the outside bone of my knee. After several rounds of PT and some type on non- steroidal injections i was fine. It took about a year to get there but I was over compensating on my left knee . Fast forward 15 years and at 51 I get a knee replacement in my left knee. I had maybe one month where I was pain free because my right knee hurts like someone is stabbing me. There is swelling and I can t put pressure on it. I went to an orthopedic urgent care and the only took an X-ray. I was told nothing was broken. If I tore something would you be able to see it on an X-ray. What are the symptoms of a torn MCL. Ice is not helping Vicodin is not helping, heat is not helping. I have an appointment with my ortopedic surgeon in a couple of weeks. Do you think I should walk on it or stay off of it. Also, if it is my MCL is this something I should see my surgeon for immediately? Thank you for your help
