Suggest Treatment For Spinal Stenosis In An Elderly Person

My mom is 76 and has spinal stenosis and was prescribed lidocaine patch. My question is where should she place the patch? She has been told apply to her low spine but instructions for use state to place where the pain is. Her pain has radiated to sides of both legs especially right leg. Thank you.

Hello!

Welcome on Healthcaremagic!

I understand your concern and would explain that although she feels irradiating pain in both her legs, the origin of the pain is in her lower spine.
This is because the nerves of both legs originate in this region. That is why I would recommend putting the patch in this region.

Hope you will find this answer helpful!
Kind regards, Dr. Aida
