Suggest Treatment For Soreness In The Tongue

I have a sore on the side of my tongue that is slowly healing. I have been to the dr.'s and he hasn't a clue to what it is. For a while it was like a slice in the side of my tongue that I could put a popsicle stick into now it is just a line covered and white and doesn't open very much anymore. I have done salt water rinses and used Triamcinolone 0.1% paste and it is still sore and not completely healed. It is going on 2 1/2 months. Any ideas?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain a sore over the tongue which was previously like a slice over the tongue that is present since 2 and half months and is not completely healed, it can be due to a severe tongue bite or injury to the tongue leading to a cut on the tongue which is gradually healing..

But as it is still present since more than 2 months therefore, you need to consult an Oral Surgeon and get evaluated and he can do a biopsy of the ulcer and get evaluated and treatment should be proceeded accordingly..

As of now you should continue doing warm saline gargles and apply steroid ointment for relief..
Apply numbing gel containing Lignocaine for relieving pain..
