Hello dear,
Thank you for your question.

It is widely accepted that physical activities like: walking, running or in your case dancing have an outstanding effect in your health. But of course pushing too much can cause some problems, especially if you are not used to physical activity. The most common complaint in such cases are muscle pain, hip or knee pain etc.

I don't know if you had previous problems with the knee, but in my opinion you might have a minor traumatic injury. You can't use ice since a lot of time has passed since the injury. Instead I would recommend hot compresses in order to promote blood circulation in the knee and help the recovery. In your case I would also recommend taking drugs to control the pain and the inflammation that causes it. The simplest and safest option is to apply anti-inflammatory gel on your knee ( ie. diclofenac or herb-based extracts like menthol etc.). It has virtually no side effects. Another option is to take the medication orally (ie. Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Ketoprofen etc.) Make sure to consult your pharmacist if you are allergic to these medications.

If you feel you are not getting better after a week of treatment, or you have had previous problems with your knee please consult with your doctor.

I hope this helped.
If you have any further questions, don't hesitate to contact me.
All the best.
Dr. Alma
