Suggest Treatment For Sore Spot On The Top Of My Head

I have a sore spot on the top of my head, about the center of my head and maybe a 2 circumference of soreness. I thought maybe a boil? but my wife didn t see a head on it but this is the second day that I ve noticed it. Hard to see if it s a bug bite with all the hair, maybe a ingrown hair? Is this a semi-common thing? I am 32 and in decent health. I work seven on seven off and thirteen hour days, I m not off for another five days and don t want to take time off for an apointment. Can I wait and see how it goes over the next few days?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hi,

According to your complaints it seems to be furuncle only. You can keep it under observation. I would recommend you to apply topical antibiotic like Neosporin ointment or Fusidic acid cream on the affected areas.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Asmeet Kaur Sawhney, Dermatologist
