Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have had a sore mouth, lips and gums for months. AT first he said it was thrush. He treated it and the white spots went away. I then started to have the inside become rough and become very painful. Now my gums hurt. I have been back to my doctor numerous times and he can't find a cure. It is very painful to brush my teath and eat. What is wrong with me?
As per your complain soreness in mouth, lips and gums is pointing towards a condition known as GINGIVOSTOMATITIS that causes inflammation of the mucous membranes inside the mouth..
It can be due to a number of conditions like Vitamin B 12 deficiency, yeast infection or thrush, dry mouth, Sjogren's syndrome, acid reflux etc..
You should consult an Oral Physician and get evatluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and investigation like mouth swab culture can help in diagnosis and treatment can be done accordingly..
As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Ibuprofen, gargle with Lidocaine gel, gargle with cold water to reduce inflammation, take vitamin B complex supplements daily, avoid spicy, hot and hard foods..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
