Suggest Treatment For Small Swelling On Penis After Intercourse

A few weeks ago I had sex with my girlfriend and noticed a skittle/m&m sized (maybe a little smaller than that) swelling on my penis. I freaked and tried to self diagnose myself with internet information. I came to think it was a penile Lymphocele and began to massage it away. After about a few minutes it almost completely subsided. However it reappeared again after rigorous masturbation by my girlfriend. I thought it was weird timing because in between each appearance of this swelling i had participated in a substantial amount of sexual activity. Anyway, the second time it was a lot smaller, but gave me much more pain. It was too painful to massage it away. I kept it easy for the net few hours and I seem to be fine. However, I wouldn t want to suffer the discomfort again. In addition, I wouldn t want to contribute to any unhealthy affects after sex ect. Is their any sort of precautionary measure I should be aware of to prevent this symptom? Or a treatment recommendation I should consider to counteract the swelling?

Hi,

The swelling on your penis could be due to several causes, including a lymphocele or a blocked gland. It's important to get a proper diagnosis from a healthcare provider to determine the exact cause of the swelling and to receive appropriate treatment.

In the meantime, you can take some precautionary measures to prevent further discomfort or swelling. These may include:
- Avoiding vigorous sexual activity or masturbation, especially if it has caused discomfort or swelling in the past.
- Applying a warm compress to the affected area for 10-15 minutes several times a day to help reduce inflammation and promote healing.
- Wearing loose-fitting clothing that doesn't put pressure on the affected area.
- Avoiding irritants, such as harsh soaps or detergents, that could exacerbate the swelling or discomfort.

If the swelling persists or worsens, or if you experience other symptoms such as pain or discharge, it's important to see a healthcare provider for an evaluation and appropriate treatment. Treatment options may include antibiotics, anti-inflammatory medications, or drainage of the swollen area.
