Started to reduce Gabapentin 2 mos ago and am down to 300mg in am & 300mg in pm. Still same symptoms. My Dr. said might have to try another medication but with greater risk for side affects. Hi,

Treatment depends on the underlying condition. If small fiber neuropathy caused by diabetes,it is treated by managing blood sugar levels and maintaining a healthy weight. Other Treatment modalities include anti-depressants, anti-convulsants, corticosteroids, topical pain creams and analgesics.
