Suggest Treatment For Sleep Disorder And Body Pain
I am 63years old and have worked at the Barbican theatre for 32years. The last 2weeks have been very busy and I have worked over 100 hours. I was due to work 60 hours this week. After I finished my 12hour shift on Tuesday I felt mentally exhausted and ached all over. That night I could not sleep and was physically sick. I did not sleep well and phoned in sick on Wednesday. I did not go out at all on Wednesday and just rested. Is this just working too many hours?
Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries
I can understand your concern. You are 63 years old and since last two weeks you have been overworking. The work is in shifts like 12 hours shift and this has resulted in significant distress. This distress has probably resulted in poor sleep and you are feeling as if you are sick. Try to reduce the work by taking proper work holidays and then spend good time in doing constructive activities.
Improving sleep hygiene would also help in good sleep. If symptoms of poor sleep persist even after all this then visit a psychiatrist for help. For transient insomnia problems short course of hypnotics like zolpidem or zopiclone results in improvement. These drugs when taken on SOS basis help in good sleep and you will feel freshened. Visit a doctor for prescription of these drugs.
Thanks, I hope this helps you. Take care
