Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Hydrocortisone Cream

Hi: My 21 years old nephew keeps breaking out in weeping rashes all over his body. He has been to several dermatologists and doctors. He was diagnosed with severe exzema and allergies and was given cortisone cream. His skin is usually clear for a few days then he breaks out again. He has eliminated many things from his diet and is in a very sterile environment yet the break outs keeps happening. His hair is falling out and his skin looks like he has hives all the time. The breakouts doesn t happen in his sweat spots only but all over his body. Any suggestions on what else to try?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Some of the side effects of hydrocortisone cream are:

skin redness/burning/itching/peeling
thinning of the skin
blistering skin
In this case, the cream should be stopped.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
