Suggest Treatment For Side Effects Of Bystolic

I ve been on Bystolic 2.5 mg for two months now. I have gained weight and feel so bloated about an hour after taking the medicine. I have no energy and feel swollen. I was on Diovan since 2003 and the Dr. said it stopped working when my bp would go up instead of down when I took a pill. Is Bystolic safe?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Feeling bloated is not related to the use of Bystolic. Instead I think it is related to the primary reason why You've been prescribed Bystolic, so to me it's a cardiovascular issue. Immediate consultation with your cardiologist is highly recommended to evaluate your cardiovascular system. Meanwhile, keep monitoring your blood pressure and record the results for reference.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Albana Sejdini, General & Family Physician
