General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.

I would recommend a visit to a pulmonologist who would first evaluate his chest by an xray, and next a blood investigation to help look for any inflammation or other such causes. A sinus issue could also be a trigger so an xray PNS may also be requiredm But for now, try and ask him to avoid the A.C. and see if he experiences any relief, if not try and get him some bronchodilators (e.g. albuterol nebulizer) from the medical store.

Best wishes.
