Suggest Treatment For Shortness Of Breath And Cough
my friend feels like he has a broken rib but has done nothing to break a rib. no bruising. one one side only, below his nipple, right side only. has some shortness of breath, some coughing but nothing you d expect with pneumonia. Has been going on for 4 days and getting worse. any ideas?

Cough with dyspnea on right side should not be neglected as it is since four days..
Here respiratory cause like bronchitis, obstructive cause, foreign body obstruction, pneumonic consolidation etc has to be ruled out...
Work up done as follow...
-Auscultation
-Chest x ray
-Spirometry if needed
-EKG if needed
According to cause further specific treatment given
Avoid stress as it can be contributing factor
Take care
