Suggest Treatment For Shooting Pain In Knee After Injury

I recently fell directly on my right knee on the cement with all my body weight. I had injured the same knee in a car accident 20 + years before that went undiagnosed. Since the accident it never gave me problems unless I would kneel directly on it. Kneeling on it caused shooting pain directly under my knee cap. Now that I have directly fallen on it again it is sensitive to the touch on the outside and the inside is extremely painful if I hit it or kneel on it. 3 times worse than it was before this last injury. Should I see a doctor or will this heal on its own?

Welcome to HCM. Sorry about your troubles. Please note that this amount of pain is not normal. You need at least an x-ray imaging to figure out if you have actually damage it or not. The knee can also get infected, believe it or not with such a small injury. I would suggest you see a doctor. Good luck.
