yes. my husband has osteoarthritis in his hips. type 2 in the right hip (diagnosed 5 yrs ago). earlier today while putting his pants on he encountered a severe pain in his right groin that has radiated up to his hip. he cannot straighten out his leg without severe pain in the hip area. should we go to the ER or treat with naproxen and flexiril and heat ? he does have an appointment with his regular doctor tomorrow. so what s your advice.

Suggest Treatment For Sharp Shooting Pain From Groin To Hip With History Of Osteoarthritis
Hi, If it is only one episode then treat it as you said. In case the pain repeats then go to the ER and get the MRI scan of the hips done. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Jaideep Gaver, Orthopedic Surgeon
