Suggest Treatment For Sharp Hip Pain While Playing Basketball

I was playing basketball this morning and while dribbling up the court, I felt a sort of sharp pain on my hip area. Felt sort of like a strained muscle. It is very sore to get up and down steps or in and out of a chair. Do you think this is a simple muscle strain?

Hi,

It could be a simple musculoskeletal pain. You can try simple analgesics like Acetaminophen or Tramadol for pain relief. Take good bed rest for a couple days.

Generally, you will be fine in two days and if the symptoms persist, you can consult a physician and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
