Suggest Treatment For Sharp Abdominal Pain In A Diabetic
I have had terrible back pain and a sharp pain in my lower left abdomen and felt kind of lousy the last few days I am diabetic - and overweight and have high blood pressure. Tonight I also have sever neck pain on the left side causing a headache. Does it sound like it should be treated, Nothing is scarey in itself but the combination seems strange

General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi,
You need to -check your sugar levels to be normal. Diabetic neuropathy may be the cause of your suffering.
-Get your urine checked to note complication of diabetes.
- Age-wise bone weakness exaggerated with diabetes & overweight can cause spondylitis to cause the pains.
All these points need to be scrutinized to pinpoint the cause followed by specific management. Your diabetologist/orthopedic surgeon would help you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr Vasudha Jayant Athavale, General & Family Physician
