Suggest Treatment For Severe Tonsillitis

Could a pulmicort nebulizers treatment help with severe tonsillitis. My 3 year old has strep throat for the sixth time this year. She received a bicillin shot but her tonsils are so swollen she can t eat. She is scheduled to have her tonsils out in two weeks, but I was wondering if the pulmicort might help reduce the tonsil swelling? Also any other suggestions would be appreciated.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
I am not sure if it will help in reducing swelling. I would suggest you to give him salt water gargling and povidone iodine gargling 3-4 times a day. Will help.
See a ENT surgeon at the earliest, as he/she may need antibiotics.
I find this answer helpful
