General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

GERD and peptic ulcer disease can present with varying degrees of symptoms.

Treatment includes lifestyle changes and the use of medication.

The lifestyle changes are: (1)small meals- large meals are associated with more reflux
(2)reduce or eliminate chocolate, mint, caffeine
(3)reduce or eliminate the use of spicy/acidic/fatty/fried foods
(4)wait 2 hours after eating before laying down
(5)elevate the head of the bed if needed
(6)weight loss of any excess weight

I hope this helps
