Suggest Treatment For Severe Stomach Pain And Bowel Discomfort

I have an appointment next week with a general surgeon for an evaluation on a CT scan that found a side branch IPMN in my pancreas. Would it be beneficial to visit an urgent care center or emergency room for the horrible stomach pain and bowel distress before the appointment?

Hello,

The possibility of acute gastritis is more likely. So start pantoprazole and levosulpiride combination on empty stomach twice daily. Avoid oily and spicy food. Avoid junk food.

Drink plenty of fluids orally and keep yourself hydrated. Avoid large meals, instead, take frequent small meals. Don't worry, you will be alright with all these.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
