Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In The Leg

hello today during tumbling i didnt stretch and did my splits while i did i heard a very loud pop and it hurt to get out of them really bad I walked around to see if the pain would decrease and it did. Later my coach made me do them again and there were smaller pops and it hurt worse. Now it hurts really bad behind my upper thigh and my lower butt. My mom thinks rest is the best for me but i want to go to a doctor becuase im a gymnast and want to keep tumbling without pain. what can i do to heal it???

Hi,

Considering the history provided, I understand that you have injured your muscles doing your gymnastic exercises.

Rest is good in your case, but it's not the only thing you have to do.

I suggest you go to a doctor, for a physical examination and evaluate the kind of injury your thigh has. Meanwhile, it would help:
- Rest.
- Use ice packs in the affected area.
- Take painkillers (Ibuprofen) to reduce pain.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Suela Gjata,
