Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi; I woke up a week ago with severe pain in my elbow area (might have slept on it). I managed to sleep that night but woke up with a swollen elbow (near the bursa area). I had no pain at the joint or when flexing my arm. It is now almost a week and the swelling has not subsided but not increased and might have spread to the lower arm a bit. I saw a doctor 3 days ago. He extracted some fluid and gave me an antibiotics (Clindamycine 300 mg, 3 times a day to take). The fluid results are back and all it shows is small amount of white blood cells but no crystals; the bacteria results are not yet here. As said above the swelling has not increased but the area is warm to the touch. It is now slightly painful only in the area where the fluid was extracted. What is your opinion?

Hi, Do an MRI scan to rule out soft tissue injury. You may need surgery to correct this. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks. Regards, Dr. Kaushal Bhavsar, Pulmonologist
