Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain In Right Breast After Injury

I fell down the stairs outside my apartment and landed directly on my right breast. The pain was severe at the time of the fall. To breath or move I have severe pain. ne week later, my right breast started to hurt so bad. I went to the Doc today and xrays of ribs and chest were done. They look good. Just wondering why I have severe pain.

Hello,

After a fall you have pain in the right breast due to injury. You had an X-ray done and ribs and chest were found to be normal. The pain you are experiencing may be indicative of this muscle strain, costochondritis, ligament or tendon inflammation or gastrointestinal issues, hiatal hernia, etc. Injuries to the ribs or chest area are very painful. Depending on where the injury occurs, this pain may manifest under one or both of the breasts.

You can apply ice to the affected area for up to 20 minutes to help reduce pain and swelling. If the pain is due to costochondritis, avoid doing activities that stress or aggravate the chest area. You can apply a heat pack to the affected area, take NSAIDs, like Naproxen or Ibuprofen, one SOS when required. For pain that gets worse, steroid injections or physical therapy may be recommended.

Due to injury or impact if a part of the stomach slides up through the hiatus, which is an opening in the diaphragm, there may be chest pain, heart burn or discomfort due to GERD. Take PPIs, one SOS when required. Sometimes, surgery may be required to correct the hernia. Get clinically examined by a gynecologist, to confirm that there no injury, bruises or cysts on the breasts. Wear a comfortable bra that minimizes movement of the breasts but is not too restrictive. you can wear sports bras that have support but are without underwire.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
