Suggest treatment for severe pain, cramps and diarrhea

Hi. I have had Crohns Disease for at least 15 years. I had a bowel resection about 5 years ago. I was symptom free until last year when I fell during a seizure and compression fractured my back. Not much longer after that all of my Crohns symptoms came back. The worst now being that if I am asleep I can t control my bowels. At all. Not to mention the terrible pain, cramps and daily diarrhea. I ve lost 50lbs. since this started. Help?

Hello,

It's important for people experiencing abdominal pain and diarrhea to stay hydrated. Drink plenty of clear liquids, such as water, juice, and broth. Avoid caffeine and alcohol. Many over-the-counter medications and herbal supplements can ease stomach pain and diarrhea caused by infections or indigestion.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Esmeralda Sera, Oncologist

Hello, I underwent numerous abdominal surgeries approximately 10 months ago for an abdominal hematoma complicated by spontaneous hemophilia. As a result of the surgeries I had my abdominis rectus muscle removed after an infection. The past month I have had constant diarrhea and am noticing increased abdominal distinction and gas. I feel full, uncomfortable, with somewhat explosive diarrhea and cramping after eating but not severe pain. I m wondering if I should visit the ER or wait for an appointment on Monday. Thank you in advance for your assistance

I recently contracted traveler s diarrhea and experienced a particularly nasty bout of it. Burning and very little eating made it particularly painful. I developed a small sore right next to my anus, it isn t very painful now that I ve gotten over the infection, only when muscles are tightened. It s about 1/4-1/3 inch diameter and is soft to the touch, but too firm to feel like puss to me. Is this a bacterial cyst?
