Suggest Treatment For Severe Pain And Swelling In The Ears

November 30th I saw a NP for my ear it was swollen on the inside I did not really have a lot of pain only if I sneezed or something. She gave me 20 mg of prednisone for 7 days I also had a bruising feeling above my right eye and it started swelling. It went down but then within a 2 week span it was swollen again and I went back in and saw a different NP they gave me an antibotic 2 days later I saw another NP and she told me to continue the antibotic and start the steroid again so I did. I completed those on Thursday, December 22 and now my eye is hurting again and starting to swell. It (pain & swelling)starts near my eyebrow and then swelling moves down into my eyelid. Would you be able to advise? Thank you

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your symptoms seem to be related to allergic conjunctivitis. I recommend using antihistamines daily such as Levocetirizine daily. I also recommend using allergic eyedrops for local relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
