Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain

I have had terrible lower back pain for the last few years. Recently, I have gnawing pain in my hips, lower back, and leg at night. I am loosing lots of sleep because of this. At times, I have burning pain that feels like its right inside my right pelvis, nearer to the groin area. My doctor told me to take pilates to work on my weak core, which I have done for the last 4 months - with very little reprieve. Any advice? Who do I go to to remedy this pain?

Hi Dear ,

As per your query you have lower back pain and pain radiates towards pelvis and lower extremities . Well there can be many reasons possible for lower back pain :-
- Muscle or ligament strain : Repeated heavy lifting or a sudden awkward movement may strain back muscles and spinal ligaments.

- Bulging or ruptured disks.

- Arthritis : arthritis in the spine can lead to a narrowing of the space around the spinal cord, a condition called spinal stenosis.

- Skeletal irregularities or spine curves abnormally.

- Osteoporosis.

I would suggest you to consult orthopedic surgeon . Doctor may order X-ra , MRI ,CT scan , blood test bone scan and electromyography . Doctor may prescribe muscle relaxant , narcotics , anti depressants and steroid injection . For now do light lower back stretching exercises and start physical therapy of lower back .
