Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Back Pain And Cough

Hi Doc, my lower back left side around to the front started to ache a week ago. No change in diet, I didn t fall or twist funny. I had a fusion of L5/S1 a little over a year ago and the pain does not feel like before surgery. The pain is getting worse, only on one side only when I get up and down, cough or sneeze. I ve been walking and doing tai chi for excercise 3 times a week and it is still getting worse. Aleve isn t helping. Heating pad feels good but doesn t take the pain away. What to do??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
hi and thanks for the query.i think that the pain is due to nerve compression, the area that u defined and the history u have given suggests that the nerve is being compressed vertebral fusion might be a cause of it,its a followup case get yourself examined by a neurosurgeon.
