Suggest Treatment For Severe Lower Abdominal Pain

HI, My husband is having Neupogen treatments (has had two so far) this morning he started feeling his heart beat in his back and lower abdomen. He has been asleep since the second shot today. Has just awakened with the feeling even heaver than this morning. To the point it is painful. We are in New Orleans in a Hotel, he is having this done at Ochsners medical Center preparing him for his stem cell transplant. Do we need to go to the emergency room?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Neupogen has tendency of splenic damage (sometimes fatal), abdomen pain with this intensity warrants side effect and immediate consultation at ER strongly recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
