Suggest Treatment For Severe Left Sided Shoulder Pain

Pain in left shoulder ball and socket joint. Starts where the chest meets the shoulder and comes and goes. Pain is worse the further my left elbow gets from my body. Pain is made worse by lying down and is also made worse by working out. This has been going on for approximately 6 weeks and no amount of rest, anti inflammatory or massage seems to make a dent. All bring temporary relief, but then it is back same as it ever was. Pain seems to be deep, not at skin level, but down in joint area and occasionally radiates down left arm to fingers, but not always.

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hello,

First, do a chest X-ray to exclude lung problems. Than if negative than talk with a rheumatologist for rheumatologic problems of the bones.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Jnikolla, Pulmonologist
