Suggest Treatment For Severe Itching On The Arm

My arm has been itching like crazy. I thought it was dry skin but it is from my elbow to my wrist only on one arm. I have been putting anti-itch ointment Hydrocortisone 1% on it for the last week it helps some but I have to re-apply. Is there anything else I can try short of going to the doctor.

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
You are having Unilateral forearm itching.
So possibility of something bite is more likely.
Along with Hydrocortisone cream, you should take combination of antihistamine (levocetrizine or fexofenadine) and anti allergic (montelukast) once a day at night before sleep.
This combination is commercially available over the counter.
Take it for 10 days. You will mostly improve in 10 days.
If not improving, consult dermatologist.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
