Suggest Treatment For Severe Infection In The Foot

My cousin who has been a juvenile diabetic since the age of twelve and is now thirty-seven had a terrible infection in her foot that (of course) would not heal. She went into surgery today with giving the doctors permission to do what they had to do and take off whatever was necessary. What they did was take the bone out of her big toe and left the toe. So my question is what will the toe be? just a flap of skin?

Hi,
I understand your concern.
Once the bone is removed there wont be any physical structure, so you cannot find the toe there and no even just a flap of skin as you are expecting.
They would remove the skin also along with the bone.
