Suggest Treatment For Severe Heel Pain

O have been having pain in the outer side of my left foot. It starts at my heel and goes to the middle of the outer foot. Reading up it sort of seems like plantar fasciitis but it is not on my whole heel...just the outer edge of the heel and outer edge of the foot and it does not affect my tors. Hurt most first thing in the am or if I have been sitting for a long period of time and get up to ealk. I went out and bought $160 sneakers because I thought it was my shoes and it made no difference.

Hi,

Your symptoms are pointing towards the possibility of plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis pain may be on the bottom of the heel or on the outer or inner side of the back of the heel. Pain is more in the morning as you said and decreases as the day pass.

The initial line of treatment is soft heel cushion in your shoes and calf stretching exercises before getting out of bed. The hot wax bath helps in reducing pain. Tablet Diclofenac Sodium for pain relief can be taken. If this all is not helping local injection of Depo-Medrol under ultrasound guidance will definitely help in pain relief.

Visit an orthopedic surgeon for a detailed clinical examination is recommended.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
