Suggest Treatment For Severe Heart Palpitations While On Blood Thinners
I am an a fib person. I use a fitbit blaze to monitor my heart beat. I know that this is not a medical device, but use it as a guide. My heart jumps up over 100 several times a day. is this usual? I am currently taking a blood thinner and another pill to lower my heart rate. Please advise
The heart rate may jump over 100 beats per minute if one is running or doing exercise. So, it is common to have a heart rate of 100 or more time after time during the day if a patient is doing a physical effort.
On the other hand, it is not only the frequency of the heart rate but also the conduction of the electrical waves in the heart that are important. So, I would advise you to talk to your doctor and have a Holter monitor of your pulse rate and heart activities and this will show not only how high your pulse goes but also what is happening in the heart when it goes high.
This will guide to further treatment and follow up.
I hope I have answered your query and have been helpful to you. Let me know if I may assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Antoneta Zotaj General and Family Physician
