Suggest Treatment For Severe Ear Infection And Retracted Ear Drum

I have a severe ear infection and retracted eardrum. Went to a clinic today since my dr was closed they gave me an antibiotic with stacked dosage for the first day and an ear drop for pain. I have taken Motrin for the pain but it is still very severe. Is their anything else to help with pain?( heat or ice)

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Ear infection needs to be treated with an antibiotic course.
Retracted ear drum is a manifestation of ear infection.
Your doctor has rightly given you antibiotic course and ear drops for pain.
If the pain is still persisting, then probably the infectious agent has not responded to the antibiotic.
In such a situation, you need to consult your doctor (preferably ENT specialist) for clinical assessment.
In case there is no improvement, then the antibiotic may have to be replaced or dose may have to be increased.

Thanks and take care
