Suggest Treatment For Severe Diarrhea

I have been experiencing diarrhea all day, for the last couple hours when I feel the need to go, there is only a small amount of mucousy stool with a hint of blood. I am worried this is a reaction to my actmera infusion I had 5 days ago? Tried to call Rhuemy but office is closed. Is this something that can wait until tomorrow?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi.
I've gone through your query and I can understand your anxiety.

Usually ACTEMRA is given for patients to treatment the swelling caused by rheumatoid arthritis & also to reduce the reactions caused during cancer treatment.

Most commonly reported side effects include
upper respiratory tract infections, nasopharyngitis, headache and diarrhea. Patients usually get adapted to the medicine after taking it for few weeks & also the symptoms will settle on its own.

If the episodes are more then go to ER & also hydrate yourself nicely.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Take care.

Regards,
Dr. Yogapriya V, General and family physician.
