Suggest Treatment For Severe Cough And Shortness Of Breath

I was mowing the lawn yesterday and had bad coughing fits then in between coughing I was finding it very hard to breath, even over an hour after stopping I was that bad I was taken to A&E they did a chest x-ray and that was clear and gave me an inhaler but I still feel a little shortness of breath now

I can understand your situation and problem.
You had inhalation lung injury. Mowing of lawn can produce tiny particles in air and when we inhale them, they cause irritation and hence in the airways. These produce bronchitis.
And this is the reason for coughing and shortness of breath after mowing of lawn.
Best treatment is stoppage of exposure and inhale fresh air. Usually this is sufficient.
But In severe cases inhaled bronchodilators and inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) are given. Antihistamine and anti inflammatory drugs are also useful in this.
In severe cases, with treatment usual time of recovery is 7-10 days.
So in my opinion, you should continue drugs for 7-10 days. Don't worry, you will definitely improve.
