Suggest Treatment For Severe Colon Spasms With Diarrhea
my 31 yr old son has attacks of severe colon cramps with diarrhea. The attack s started when he was around 10 and have plagued him since about every 4 to 6 months. He had a colonoscopy at 10 and an appendectomy at 11. Any idea what could be wrong? They thought the first one was caused by an allergy to strawberries, but we have since ruled that out. He has no regular medical insurance but is a disabled veteran and has that benefit of services available. He has also has kidney stones after dehydration. I think they are related maybe. I also thought maybe diverticulitis. I have breast cancer and now wonder could I have passed along a colon cancer gene.,Help please, Thank you so much, Susan Martin

Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like food intolerance , food allergy , bacterial or viral infection , parasitic infection or inflammatory bowel disease. Need not to worry. You should take plenty of fluids and oral rehydrating solution as well. You should take small and multiple meals and avoid large meals at a time. I would suggest you to consult gastroenterologist for proper examination. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like ornidazole , albendazole , omeprazole along with loperamide . For now eat light and non spicy , eat fresh fruits and vegetables and eat fruits like banana .
