my 18 year old son has today for the 2nd time in a week complained of strong pain in the center of his chest it has subsided on its own but is very uncomfortable he says he doesn t feel shortness of breath or acid reflux he did burp slightly but when I commented on it he said he d just had a glass of water after working outside powerwashing the patio. do you have any recommendations for what I should do to determine what this is
Thanks for your question on Health Care Magic. I can understand your concern. Better to first rule out heart diseases for his chest pain. So get done ecg and 2d echo. If both are normal than no need to worry for heart diseases. If he is having stress than this can be the reason for his central chest pain. So better to consult psychiatrist and get done counseling sessions. Try to identify stressor in his life and start working on its solution.. He may need anxiolytic drugs too. Don't worry, he will be alright.. Hope I have solved your query. Wishing good health to your son. Thanks.
