Suggest Treatment For Severe Chest Pain Near The Shoulder
Had a hiatus hernia for 15 years. Lately the pain on my left upper chest close to my shoulder is worst. It could be an aspirin, slightly spice food or cold medication which aggravates it. I take Rabeprazole in the morning and ranitidine in the evenings and gaviscon whenever I need it. It seems that none of these medications help me when I have an episode on pain. Any suggestions? Thanks
As per your query you have severe chest pain near the shoulder . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case it seems to me that the symptoms are either due to acid reflux or cardiac problem . I would suggest you to avoid eating spicy and heavy food specially at night , take a light walk after every meal , take antacid after every meal and keep your head elevated while sleeping . Also consult cardiologist for proper examination . Doctor may order ECG , TMT , troponin t test and complete blood profile . Doctor may prescribe morphinr , aspirin , calcium channel blockers and sedative . Doctor may also refer you to surgeon for hernia .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Get Well Soon.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
