Suggest Treatment For Severe Back Pain, Fatigue And Lack Of Appetite

About a week and a half ago I had an episode of excruciating back pain not brought on by injury.....just sort of sudden while sitting eating. Better through the night then bad again in the morning. i went to the Dr (not my normal Dr) and he did urine test - no infection. Thought maybe ovarian cyst or kidney stone (slight pain when he put pressure on my lower abdomen). Since he wasn t my normal dr and it was Fri he gave me hydrocodone for the weekend and said to see my dr the next week. I had another bad episode on Sat morning then felt really good all day and night. Sunday morning another attack. Went to the ER and they felt it was a kidney stone. Did CT scan - didn t show. Said it may have passed. I haven t had the episode of really bad pain, but still have a constant dull ache in my lower back that is worst in the morning. I m not constipated. Don t feel like it s gas. Feel really low on energy, lack of appetite. I do have a history of back issues. It didn t bother me before these episodes at all, not sure if this could cause that? But id doesn t feel like I hurt my back pain it is really just a constant sort of ache. Do I need to see my Dr again? It doesn t seem to be getting better.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Since you had CT and didn’t see the stone. It might have passed. If the dull pain persists kindly plan to see a urologist you might be needing more evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr ASIF, General & Family Physician
