Suggest Treatment For Severe Aortic Stenosis

I have severe aortic stenosis, eco showed 0.78 opening. I m 73 yrs. old and I don t want open heart surgery. Because I m in good health and my heart is strong, my cardiologist said the FDA would no approve non invasive surgery. Really! Is there a good surgeon in Broward county Florida that would perform TAVR. Can medical marijuana cure stenosis? I read a 2008 article about a Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif, director of the Montreal Heart Institute, that was working on a drug of high-density lipoproteins to cure aortic stenosis in 14 days. Do you know anything about this procedure?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

Medical management does not cure the disease permanently.

You can consult an interventional cardiologist and plan for any catheter directed dilation of the stenosis valve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
General & Family Physician
