General & Family Physician 's  Response
Acne is a disease of the hair follicles of the face, chest, and back that affects almost all teenagers during puberty. It is not caused by bacteria, although bacteria play a role in its development. Acne occurs when sebaceous (oil) glands attached to the hair follicles are stimulated at the time of puberty or due to other hormonal changes. Sebum (oil) is a natural substance that lubricates and protects the skin. Acne usually improves around the age of 20, but may persist into adulthood. Permanent scarring may occur.
Advice
1.     Apply locally clindamycin 1% solution/gel at bed time for one month
2.      Use Acne aid soap three time daily for cleaning your face
3.     Have a good sleep of 8 hours and drink 3 – 4 liters of water daily
4.     Do not squeeze pimples as it will cause scarring
5.     Try to avoid use of unbranded cosmetics unnecessarily
6.      Have patience - Any treatment of acne may take two or three months to start working
Thanks
