Suggest Treatment For Severe Abdominal Cramps

For the last month I ve been taking birth control, I skipped taking the sugar pills and moved onto the next lot because I wanted to skip my period, but three days ago I still got my period with really bad tummy cramps, the odd thing about this is the colour of my period is brownish/black. Is this normal?

Hi,

Abdominal cramps and bleeding can happen with birth control pills.

It’s a normal thing and will settle by itself.

As of now, you can take analgesics like Mefenamic Acid for symptomatic relief.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain,
