Suggest Treatment For Restricted Movement In The Knee Post Injury

Hi, I injured my knee two weeks ago and after having it X-rayed they told me I had fluid on my knee. They told me to keep all weight of it for 4 to 5 days then slowly start to put a small bit of weight on it . I ve done all this and I can now put weight on my knee which isn t to sore but my question is that I still can t bend it any more then 15 or 20% max and I ve noticed an inch and a half size black bruise on the back of my knee that only came up a few days ago. Is this all normal after having fluid on your knee?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

You had injury and you had taken x-ray. Fluid in the x-ray indicates your injury is healing. So please don't mind it. As your healing process completes it eventually subsides take bed rest, have good diet especially (vitamin c and calcium diet). Do slight exercise at joint to avoid contractures. Restriction improves with time.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Lk.tata.lk
