Suggest Treatment For Reoccurring Cold Sore, Fever And Blister On My Lip

I have a reoccurring cold sore/fever blister on my upper lip usually brought on by stress or sun. Redden skin, erupts with white blisters occurring about 3 days after rash first appears. They pop and weep and form a crust. They don't itch or burn but are unsightly. Using Abrevea doesn't seen to heal them any faster than using nothing and they tend to go away in 7 to 10 days. They appear about every 3 - 6 months, longest I've ever gone without one was 1.5 years. Is there something to prevent them in the first place and what can I do to heal them when they appear?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain cold sore is caused due to Herpes Virus 1 infection and it is a recurring infection and as soon as the body's immunity goes low in which stress is an important factor there is flaring up of infection..

During the symptom free periods also virus particles are present in small numbers dormant in the nerve fibres and as soon as the immunity goes low or there is any other favourable condition for it to grow like recurring exposure to infection can lead to eruption of sores..

As abreva can help in reducing viral count but you need proper antiviral medications like Acyclovir, Valacyclovir etc after proper investigations like antigen antibody reaction, Viral culture etc for proper diagnosis..

Antiviral medications will help in reducing the severity and frequency of cold sore eruptions..
So better consult an Infectious medicine specialist and get evaluated..
