Suggest Treatment For Redness, Swelling And Lower Calf Muscle Pain

After I fell and injured my calf about 8 days ago I applied ice to the injured are and the swelling went down but I now have redness and a lesion in the area below where the swelling was. It also pains somewhat and seems to be migrating down towards my lower calf. Could it be infected although I did not bleed after I fell.
