Suggest Treatment For Red Swollen Knees With Small Boils

My son had what seemed like a boil on his knee--swollen, red, tender to touch, and there appeared to be a small head on it. It improved drastically between last night and today and he managed to squeeze it and get some pus out. When inspecting it, I noticed several other small pimples around the area. What could this be?

Hi.
As per your case history your son is probably having multiple furuncles.
My treatment advice is -
1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition.
2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it.
3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for 5-7 days.
4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
