Having an issue with my tongue. Small red sores on tip of tongue, stings like crazy. Now I have developed a white, small spot on tongue and my tongue seems to have swollen some. My primary doctor looked at it and said most likely some type of herpes, should go away in a week or two. Well it has been a month. I don t know what other type of doctor to see.
Thanks for your query, I have gone through your query. The ulcer on the tongue can be a traumatic ulcer secondary to sharp teeth recurrent herpes infection or a recurrent aphthous ulcer. Nothing to be panic, consult a oral physician and get it evaluated. Mean while you can take topical anesthetic and analgesic like lignocaine and choline salicylate. If there are any sharp teeth, then it has to be reduced or smoothened. If it is a aphthous ulcer then you can take topical steroids like triamcinolone acetonide. I hope my answer will help you, take care.
