I have a red bumpy rash between my vagina and anus, my obgyn took a swab, put my on Valtrex, and gave me lidocaine cream, I had been sexually active a week earlier and the rash developed after I had worn new unwashed underware and was painful when I walked, I told the obgyn I had strep throat before and that my sexual partner had no signs of rash, but I sent him to get tested and he is awaiting blood test results since he had no rash to swab.... I have read a lot about herpes and other stds and I am very confused since my rash doesn t look like open sores or lesions or clusters but I know Valtrex is for herpes
